Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
We are a family-owned and operated asset management firm with a diverse portfolio spanning product innovation, engineering, manufacturing, and real estate. We're looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a vital part in achieving our strategic goals and guiding the financial direction of our company.
About the Role
The CFO is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for leading the financial functions and supporting the growth and sustainability of our organization. As CFO, you will manage the overall financial activities, from tax planning and budgeting to risk management and operational strategies. This role also involves supporting the leadership team with insightful financial guidance, overseeing key performance indicators, and implementing sound financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Build and Lead a High-Performing Financial Team: Recruit and develop top financial talent to support financial reporting, tax, accounting, and FP&A functions.
Strategic Planning & Alignment: Collaborate with executive leadership to establish goals and objectives aligned with our Strategic Business Plan.
Financial and Tax Strategy Development: Create effective financial and tax strategies across our parent and subsidiary companies.
Banking and Financial Relationships: Foster and maintain strong relationships with banking and financial institutions, supporting our growth while ensuring compliance with financial regulations and covenants.
Insurance and Risk Management: Oversee insurance and risk management in partnership with external brokers.
Pricing and Financial Guidance: Provide the accounting and sales teams with guidance on customer pricing strategies to optimize outcomes.
Financial Statements & Forecasts: Lead the preparation of financial statements, forecasts, and business plans for business units and consolidated operations.
Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Direct annual budgeting, oversee revisions, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial reporting.
Acquisitions and Due Diligence: Engage in M&A activities, including due diligence and the analysis of potential acquisitions.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
CPA designation is highly desirable.
Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in public and corporate accounting.
Previous CFO experience is preferred.
Strong record of process improvement and profit optimization.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with a talent for team development and effective communication.
Proficient in standard cost accounting and general ledger management.
Familiarity with ERP systems; IQMS experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with a results-oriented mindset.
M&A experience, including purchase strategies and financing, is a plus.
Position Details
Primary Location: Sarasota, FL.
Travel Requirements: Up to 30% travel within the United States, primarily in the Midwest and Southwest.
