Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Consultant Pharmacist Team Lead to join our Clinical Pharmacy Services (CPS) team. In this leadership role, you will help oversee our drug utilization review (DUR) and medication therapy management programs, guiding pharmacists and pharmacy associates while ensuring optimal patient care. You will also work closely with physicians and other healthcare providers to promote the appropriate use of medication and manage the prior authorization process.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Provide training, mentorship, and support to Consultant Pharmacists and Pharmacy Associates, ensuring they are well-equipped to perform their roles.
Client Reporting: Prepare and coordinate scheduled and ad-hoc reports for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Clinical Workgroups: Lead the advisory board's clinical workgroups by recruiting participants, organizing meetings, and presenting reports and data-driven insights.
Representation: Act as a representative at client meetings, conferences, public forums, and informational sessions to promote the program and share updates.
Prior Authorization Coordination: Oversee the request for prior authorization (RPA) process, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, including the 24-hour response requirement.
Drug Therapy Review: Participate in the development of clinical drug use criteria for prospective and retrospective review processes, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.
Medication Therapy Management: Conduct comprehensive and targeted reviews of patient medical and medication profiles, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure the best therapeutic outcomes.
Real-Time Decision-Making: Communicate directly with pharmacies to approve or deny prescription requests based on clinical guidelines.
Program Compliance: Ensure compliance with program requirements and perform daily monitoring of medication utilization. Refer potential cases of abuse or fraud for further review as needed.
Quality Initiatives: Lead and support quality improvement and assurance initiatives to enhance program performance and patient outcomes.
Additional Responsibilities: Participate in program planning, site visits, and agency meetings as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree with at least 2 years of pharmacy-related experience or completion of 2 years of a pharmacy residency program, or
PharmD with 1 year of residency and 1 year of relevant pharmacy experience
Eligibility for or current pharmacist license in good standing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Experience in medical or medication profile reviews
Ability to travel to off-site locations as required
Preferred:
Bilingual fluency in English and one additional major language (both written and spoken)
