Job Description Summary

Coordinator of Internship and Activity Courses for the Sport Leadership and Management department to supervise all Physical Activity Life Skills (PALS) classes taught by SLM graduate assistants and Miami University staff; schedule PALS classes for the fall and spring semesters; serve as a liaison between the SLM department and Miami University Equestrian Center, Goggin Ice Arena, and Recreation Center; troubleshoot any problems with scheduling classes and campus classrooms/space; teach one course per semester as assigned by the Department Chair (must meet qualifications to teach the course); liaison internship placements for SLM students internal and external to Miami University; assist with scheduling students via Handshake for SLM 340 and SLM 640 Internships; submit final grades for all internships; process MOUs for all internship placements; conduct SLM graduate student orientation at the beginning of every academic year with SLM graduate assistants; evaluate all graduate assistant instructors at least one time per semester.

Position will begin August 1, 2025

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; experience in a sport related field coordinating programs, coaching or teaching.

Consideration may be given to candidates with: 1) evidence of high-quality instruction and supervision; 2) experience teaching sport coaching courses at the undergrad level, or 3) sport industry experience.
