Job Summary
As a PeopleSoft Database Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the reliable and secure operation of our PeopleSoft software and Oracle database systems. Your work will ensure that our PeopleSoft applications, essential for our operations and academic functions, remain stable, secure, and high-performing.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team to successfully execute strategic projects and maintain operational excellence for all applications within your team's portfolio. Foster a collaborative environment that supports knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Database Management: Oversee a team of PeopleSoft Database Administrators to ensure optimal performance and efficient operation of PeopleSoft applications. Identify and resolve performance issues through techniques like tuning and indexing. Set objectives, provide guidance, and manage tasks to enhance team effectiveness.
IT Service Management: Utilize ITSM frameworks to handle daily database operations and incidents effectively.
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security policies to protect sensitive data within PeopleSoft databases. Monitor database access, ensure compliance with security standards, and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and procedures.
Collaboration & Optimization: Work with Information Security teams to address vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Partner with application developers and system administrators to optimize database configurations.
Backup & Recovery: Design and manage robust backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime. Conduct regular capacity planning to anticipate future needs and scale infrastructure accordingly.
Access Controls: Implement and manage access controls, encryption mechanisms, and auditing procedures to safeguard sensitive data.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience, or Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or high school diploma with 12 years of relevant experience.
Proven experience in team management.
Proficiency with PeopleSoft and Oracle Database.
Experience with vendor ERP software.
Knowledge of Linux or Windows Operating Systems.
Ability to thrive in team environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing and managing source code libraries and software releases for production.
Familiarity with replication and clustering.
Strong background with PeopleSoft software.
Experience using ServiceNow or other ITSM tools.
Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins, GitLab, Vagrant, etc.
Experience with diagnostic tools for network, hardware performance, and storage analysis.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
Typical office environment.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Participation in off-hours on-call rotation is required.
Some evenings and weekends may be needed.
