The Role: Lateral Associate Tax (Real Estate) New York NY

We are seeking an accomplished Tax Associate from law school class years 2018 to 2021 to join a prestigious and expanding tax team specializing in real estate matters including REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative real estate tax strategies and collaborate with leaders in the field.

Practice Expertise and Focus

The Tax Practice Group is recognized for its cuttingedge solutions and strategic approaches in real estate tax law. Key areas of focus include:

• Real Estate Transactions: Structuring acquisitions developments joint ventures and dispositions with tax efficiency in mind.
• REIT Expertise: Advising on formation compliance and tax planning for Real Estate Investment Trusts.
• Investment Strategies: Creating innovative solutions for real estate funds and partnerships.
• Tax Controversy: Representing clients in audits and disputes with tax authorities related to real estate transactions.

In this position you will:

• Provide sophisticated tax advice on real estate transactions including REIT structuring developments and acquisitions.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft highquality tax memoranda opinions and transaction documents.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to tackle complex tax issues in real estate.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by offering tailored legal strategies and solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and attributes:

Experience and Expertise

• Experience Level: Law school graduate from 2018 to 2021 with a strong foundation in tax law and practical experience in real estaterelated tax transactions.
• Real Estate Tax Focus: Proven expertise in REITs or other real estate tax matters is preferred.

Educational Credentials

• Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from a toptier accredited law school with excellent academic performance.
• Additional Certifications: An LLM in Taxation is a plus but not required.

• Technical Acumen: Strong legal research drafting and analytical skills in tax law.
