GENERAL FUNCTION

The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing all databases, ensuring their performance, security, and availability. This includes the installation, configuration, administration, maintenance and tuning of all application databases. Additionally, the Database Administrator triages issues and provides technical support to the development team.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
• Support and maintain security measures to protect the database from potential threats
• Collaborate with developers on related changes
• Execute the installation, configuration, and maintenance of databases
• Troubleshoot systems, providing failure analysis and recovery
• Provide 24x7 Production environment support via an on-call rotation
• Create and maintain documentation of architecture and other environmental areas
• Interface with 3rd party vendors on technical needs and/or triaging of issues
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity processes, exercises, and documentation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of demonstrated knowledge of Oracle DB and applicable monitoring tools
• Proficient in the SQL programming language
• Proficient in the structured analysis and design of data models
• Knowledge of core networking concepts to support troubleshooting
• Demonstrated skill in collaborating professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to maintain a successful work environment
• Proficient at Microsoft office products

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in MS SQL Server a plus
• programming skills, or Linux OS knowledge
• Experience working with monitoring and management tools such as Dynatrace or RHQ
• Insurance industry knowledge

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
