Position Summary:

Rutgers University-Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Senior Department Administrator, reporting to the Senior Associate Deans for Information Services at the law library in Newark and Camden.

This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

• Oversees all business practices of the law library to include budget management, purchasing, creating and maintaining relationships with vendors and ensuring practices conform to University regulations.
• Provides direct support to the Sr Associate Deans for Information Services on a wide range of projects and assignments, including coordinating receptions and other special meetings and seminars.
• Oversees all human resource functions and matters pertaining for all employees at the law library in conjunction with Law School and University Human Resources.
• Compounded responsibility of the day-to-day operations and administration of the library offices, including the development of departmental policies and budget management.
• This encompasses 5 library departments in Newark and 4 in Camden.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and minimum of three years experience in an executive level administrative position, preferably with supervisory responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and professionalism.
