(Physician/MD qualifications required) Urology - Robotics trained Urologist needed

A Medical Center is searching for a BC/BE (if completing training) Urologist to replace a physician relocating out of the area for family reasons. The hospital has a daVinci Si surgical system. Training in robotics is required for this posiition. Currently this a combined service area of over 250,000 has only 3 urologists providing services and there is a strong demand for additional physicians in this specialty. It is a 231 bed, full service hospital which has recently undergone major renovation and expansion. Abilene is conveniently located just 2 1/2 hours west of Dallas and has an airport which offers daily regional jet service.

Community, Facility and Organization

The Hospital is a 231 bed, full service hospital built in 1984. A recent 26 million dollar expansion was completed in August of 2007. This included renovation and construction of out-patient receiving, 3 catch labs, 4 GI suites, fast track staging and recovery and two additional floors adding 42 beds, a new nursery of 16-21 beds and a NICU of 16 beds.

The Community
The community population is approximately 115,000 and the hospital has a referral base which extends 90 miles. There are 3 universities and one junior college. Two independent school systems which are very highly rated. The hospital is located in the expanding area of the community with major highway access from all entry points. Abilene is also the location of Dyess Air Force Base. Having a workforce of 6000 military and civilian, they are a major contributor to the community. Abilene has a very strong cultural reputation and is consistently one of the top 10 tourist attractions in Texas.
